for the decoration tradition: it was affordable and available, but it wasn't going to pass the "flimsy" test. But I decided that it would be a fun thing for my daughter and me to do.
I began by cutting out strips of red and green construction paper ahead of time, as I knew I didn't have the time or patience to watch my 4-year-old attempt it Together we made the first loop, pasting the ends together. Then we inserted the next strip into the the first loop and pasted those ends together. And we did that until we had a very long garland. It was a success! My daughter was very proud, and we had accomplished making a decoration with ease and fun.
