Dec. 8, 9,10: Kl Christmas Play
Barbara Robinson’s play, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will be presented at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 8 and Saturday, December 9 and at 2 p. m. on Sunday, December 10. The play is a delightful comedy about a community that learns the meaning of Christmas from the most irreligious family in town. The cast of over 40 (mostly children) is deep into rehearsal and preparations are being made to turn the Sperryville Schoolhouse (recently Sunnyside Farm) into a Christmas vision. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 15. Reservations may be made by calling 987-3164 and leaving your name, phone number, number of tickets, and the performance date.
Dec. 10: Santa Claus In Amlssvllle
Avoid the mall and chaos of commercialism! Santa makes a visit to Gray Ghost on Sunday, December 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. This is a free event and every child receives a special gift. Cameras are welcomed and encouraged. Gray Ghost is located at 14706 Lee Highway in Amissville and can be contacted at 937-4869.

Luther King’s birthday
An Essay Contest entitled, “Dr. King’s Dream What I will do to keep the dream alive” is open to students in grades 5th & 6th, 7th - 9th, and 10th - 12th in Rappahannock County schools, public and private. The essay contest is sponsored by the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Committee in celebration of the 16th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday celebration held each year in January. The deadline for submissions is December 11, 2006. Submissions should include the student’s name, home mailing address, telephone, email address, age, grade, school name, parent/guardian’s name, and an essay of no more than 300 words (2 typed pages, double spaced) Send essays to: MLK Essay Contest, 20001 Ellis Rd., Lignum, VA 22726 or email: jeboddiescholarship@usa.com.
