Capital Projects Technician
The Office of Capital Construction is seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time position. This position will work as a member of the project management team and will become familiar with planning criteria and designs of the Capital improvements projects. Responsibilities include inspecting work performed by contractors to ensure work is completed according to construction documents; providing written inspection reports to assigned project manager; organizing and maintaining project files; performing technical and administrative tasks for assigned projects; participating in project design reviews and participating In progress meetings during active construction. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation with at least four (4) years of directly related experience in building trades. Valid driver's license required. Prefer contractor's license, Master or Journeyman license in electrical or one or more mechanical trades issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must be able to work in temperature extremes and INI SO pounds. Some work is hazardous because of location (e.g. rooftop) or type of work (e.g. high voltage electrical work).
