TRIAD is a cooperative agreement among senior citizens and law enforcement, working together to help keep seniors' fiom becoming victims of crime. Senior citizens are the*'* fastest growing population and their needs are many anddiverse. Hie primary goal of the TRIAD partnership is to’ reduce criminal victimization of elder citizens, enhance the--* delivery of law enforcement services to the population and-0*provide opportunities for exchanging information. i \
Project Lifesaver: a Rapid Response Program aiding citi- ’■l -1 zens and famihes dealing with Alzheimer’s disease, autism,*'r» and dementia were demonstrated. This program uses state--*as! of-the- art technology and specially trained officers to locate' individuals who have wandered away and cannot take care of ■' * themselves. Other programs are: file of life, emergency medical information; a senior/child missing alert; an informative newsletter alerting the public to scams involving the elderly and other activities. One of the main components is establishing a SALT (Seniors and Law Enforcement TbgetherJ 'P' Council. It assesses and addresses the needs of the elderly itfvj** the community, then collaborates to develop ways to meet*' * their needs.
