Holiday warmth

Thanksgiving has always been the perfect holiday. The only real expectations are for great food in large quantities and people you love to share it with. For most of my adult life I’ve lived far away from family and that’s true this year as well. And, one of the things I was grateful for last Thursday was all the invitations we had from people offering to share their Thanksgiving dinner with us. It was a lot more than food they were offering to share. It was their friendship, their families, their homes and most importantly in these harried days, their time. We had invitations from friends, neighbors and from people we’ve never even met.

In these days of deep cynicism about our fellow man, I’m happy to report that there are still many wonderful, caring people out there! I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
