to observe the prevalence of the "bigger-is-better" mindset among men, whether we're talking cars, muscles or meals, and that same thinking applies to their purchases - which frequently leads to a lot of money being spent in one fell swoop. No dribs or drabs for them!

There was a time when this predilection probably had a very practical and useful function: After all, the only "big game" a Stone Age-era man could bring home, was, well, just that, and voila, roast loin of mammoth for supper! Perhaps we can owe the human race's survival to the fact that, to the best of anyone's knowledge, there was no Tractor Supply, and there were no Gators - at least not the sort that run on diesel - competing for men's attention.
