a demonstration of a number of Latin dances by Freddie Ciampi III of Ballroom Dance in Berryville, Virginia, and his student Gaia Read, a WCDS freshman. All the upper school students participated in a salsa dance lesson and enjoyed a martial arts demonstration by/Yasuyuki Akashi and Junilson Brito. Lower school students made crafts from other countries such as Egyptian headdresses.

On Tuesday November 14, 6th and 7th graders at Rappahannock Elementary school participated in the 5th annual "Mix it Up at Lunch Day."
Students were asked to sit at tables according to the month in which they were bom. This presented quite a change from the normal seating pattern.
Seventh grade team leader Natalie Hathaway reported that, "Some of the students were a little put off when they heard about our plans to go through with the 'Mix it Up' day, but once they got down to wearing the tags with their birthday months on them and actually sitting with new people at lunch, it went great. They warmed up to it quickly."
The Mix it Up program was begun by the Southern Poverty Law Center as an attempt to reduce prejudice and improve intergroup relations among youth in schools.
