time for the Friday following Thanksgiving, affectionately named "Black Friday" by the retail industry. Although the holiday shopping started off in chaotic fashion, her favorite part was getting to know people from the community and helping them find the perfect gift for the holiday festivities.
When budgets don’t allow for newly released books, patrons can look to used book stores for values on classics and special interest books. BJ's Books owner Beth Feagan said gift certificates are a big seller for the store.
"There are people who are voracious readers. A gift certificate is a good gift if you don't know exactly which book to buy," Feagans said. She said books on tape and CD are also big sellers, along with baseball cards, which are a big hit during the holidays.
"We do have some old treasures here," Feagan said, highlighting unique choices
