• White Spruce: needles a half-inch to three-quarters-ofan-inch long; green to bluishgreen, short, stiff needles; crushed needles have an unpleasant odor; good needle retention.

A fantastic way to start the season is to take the whole family out to a tree farm and cut a Christmas tree. You will find lots of great cut-your-own Christmas tree farms in the area. Many of these Christmas tree farms also sell wreathes, greens, ornaments and other holiday items. Some farms sell out quickly, so it is best to call before you head out and check on availability.
