Two Rappahannock high school students recently brought a children’s book to life, with their own lavish illustrations.
The book, entitled “Danny and the Detention Demons,” a tale of a boy who sees strange creatures in his classroom as school sluggishly draws to a close. “Eve and I liked the idea of little imaginary creatures distracting school kids,” said 17-year-old Nicole Espinola in a recent interview.
The book was written by Mack Webb, Jr., a Warrenton author who founded Pilinut Press with his wife Celia. The Webbs recently retired from the Armed Forces, and founded the publishing company to give life to Mack’s stories.
Celia does most of the book design and publishing and also helps with illustrations while Mack serves as the master story teller of the company.
