PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE ZONING CHAPTER OF THE RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY CODE CONCERNING PROFESSIONAL OFFICE USES, AND SUCH USES IN THE GENERAL COMMERCIAL OVERLAY DISTRICT Upon application of a property owner, the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County, Virginia, shall hold & public hearing on Monday, May 7, 2007, at 7:00 PM at the Courthouse on Gay Street in Washington, VA, to consider the following text amendments to Chapter 170 of the Rappahannock County Code, Zoning (§170-1 et seq.): 1. Amend the text in §170-36 E. which currently reads: “Office, professional, including clinic, less than 3 persons employed” by deleting “less than 3 persons employed” and replacing with “(small).” 2. Amend the text in §170-36 E. which currently reads: “Office, professional, including clinic, greater than three persons employed” by deleting “greater than 3 persons employed” and replacing with “(large).” 3. Amend the title to § 170-66 E. by deleting “less than three persons employed” and replacing with “(small).” 4. Amend the text in §170-66 E. (1), by deleting the period at the end of the sentence and adding: .except in the case of properties lying within the General Commercial Overlay District (GCO) there shall be no limit on the number of employees and/or professionals engaged in the operation of the office or chruc. This exception shall apply to all special use permits issued for professional offices and clinics in the GCO District after 7 March 1994. On 18 April 2007 these proposed amendments shall be considered by the Rappahannock County Planning Commission, which shall make a recommendation on the proposed amendments to the Board of Supervisors, and then shall be considered by the Board of Supervisors, which may vote on the amendments on May 7. These amendments have been proposed by CIM Real Estate in accordance with § 15.2-2286 A. 7 of the Code of Virginia, 1950 as amended, and with §170-134 B. (1) of the Rappahannock Code.
