All children who will be five years old by September 30,2007 may enter Kindergarten this August. Registration for new kindergartners will be held at RCES on Tuesday, May 1, Wednesday, May 2 and Thursday, May 3. The hours are 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. — 3 p.m. by appointment. If you know of any children in Rappahannock County who will be five by September 30 (including your own), we would greatly appreciate your giving us that information so that we may contact their parents and arrange an appointment. May 4: Culpeper Fiesta
The Hispanic Committee of Culpeper will host Culpeper Fiesta at the downtown train depot on Friday, May 4 from 6-10 p. m. Thanks to Los Inmigrantes, our local Mexican band and DJ Woody, our local DJ of Latin music. There will be a variety of foods from different Latin countries for purchase, guaranteed to be the real thing! The Fiesta will be a great day for children! There will be pinatas, games, face-painting, stories, lasso trials, seeds to plant, and other activities. Families in Culpeper and the surrounding area should keep the date open and plan to visit and participate in Culpeper Fiesta. Bring your own chair and enjoy the evening! It is the first of many downtown Culpeper parties this summer. No admission. Fun for the entire family with activities for children, lots of food and music. Park Spring Trail Crew
Volunteers 18 and older are invited to participate in the annual Central District Spring Trail Crew operated by Shenandoah National Park and the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club. The work area may be on or near Old Rag Mountain, but current needs will dictate. Shower, food, bunks, and equipment are provided.
