April 14: Benefit concert
for Daniel Garcia
Sponsored by the Culpeper Times, Culpeper Rock Academy, and The Knights of Columbus, this is a fund raiser for Daniel’s rib-implant surgery. This Saturday starting at noon and running all day until 10:30 p.m. Held at the The Pot & Kettle Club, Culpeper, VA 21125 Kettle Club Road (Also known as the Knights of Columbus building) $8 admission/donation at the door, we’re cutting admission to $3 for kids under 12. We’re offering a family rate of $20 for “all-at-once” family admission (at least one parent must be present). Lots of food all day . long with door prizes and plenty of music from local bands including several from Rappahannock County.
April 14: MA Night at the Races’*
On Saturday, April 14, at the CCLC Old School House Washington, VA. The doors will open at 6 p.m. Admission: Pre-Purchased Tickets $25 per person.
“A Night at the Races” is actual horse races that have been filmed using five cinematography cameras and narrated from start to finish by many of America’s top-rated announcers. All the suspense and action that you experience at a real Race Track, has been captured in this evening.
Guests will have the opportunity to “WIN” something, “PLACE” your bets and “SHOW” your skills. A new feature this year; is that you may OWN a horse. For $20 you can name your horse, the jockey and write your own description that will appear on the custom made programs for the night. There are 10 races, with 10 horses in each race. After each race, winners will be announced and prizes will be given. Horse Owners will win “special” prizes for their horse winning their race.
Your pre-purchased ticket is your entrance into the “Racing Facility” and includes a full course meal and beverages. Door Prize Drawings will be drawn from the entrance tickets. There will be many, many ways to win prizes and to claim your race winnings. You must be 21 years of age or older to attend this event. We will also have Silent Auction items available. Julie Portman, Ki Theatre founder and Alaina Love, President of HRx Renaissance Consortium, Inc. have collaborated over the past two years using story as a tool to connect to purpose in life and work. They will be facilitating the workshop, Create Purpose in Your Life & Work on Saturday, April 14th from 10AM to 5PM in Washington, Virginia. Presented as part of Ki Theatre’s Life Stories Workshop Series, this is an excellent program for those in transition who are seeking greater fulfillment in their life and work. Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will be having their Picking Party on Saturday, April 14 at the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department at 6 p. m. All bluegrass and country bands are welcome. There will be a 50/50 raffle. The Fire Department Auxiliary will be selling refreshments.
