Blue Ridge ride

‘Horsemaster5

Seventeen-year-old Lauren White of Loudoun County is the first 4-Her on record to complete all requirements for both the Horse Scientist and the Horsemaster projects through the national 4-H club. Horse Science and Horsemaster are comprised of four-part progressive programs. Both stress technical knowledge, leadership skills and self-motivation, and require significant exposure in a variety of business facets within the horse industry.

White’s Horsemaster project work included equine nutrition, farm design, management, horse breeding, foaling, training, competition and a working knowledge of many different breeds and disciplines, capped off by a 50-mile ride requirement. ,
