We must not take the risk that educational gains made by our students in recent years will be lost while local and state leaders work to make school financing fair. Helen Williams, Chair of Headwaters and former Acting Superintendent of Schools in this county, put it this way: “We recognize both the real needs of our schools and the tough choices facing taxpayers, but we hope that the debate focuses on the problems of financing the education needs of our students, and not on placing blame on the schools where it does not belong.”
