The outcome of the Panther boy’s varsity soccer game against Warren County looked bleak at halftime as senior Arne Utne was given a red card, sending him off the field.
Utne was serving as the teams goalie when the offense occurred against a Warren County player. The opposing athlete was headed toward the goal when Utne moved aggressively to stop the ball, inhibiting the player from making his shot. The subsequent penalty kick gave Warren county the first goal of the game resulting in a score of 01 at halftime.
Coach Shay Bell called in Will Boelte to replace Utne as the team’s goalie, moving up Will Sonnet into a striker position.
