Weather forecasters predict and keep records about the weather, but this writer has a fond memory of stories told by her parents about the April snow falls of years ago.

My future-father Ray Frazier, living with his parents, Samuel and Jenny Frazier in the Sperryville vicinity was a farm laborer on the WoodJohnson farms. Mother to be, Lizzie Dodson, living with her parents Boaten and Sallen Dodson, a short distance past Beech Spring Regular Baptist Church, on their property, now the Shenandoah Park, was a school teacher on the mountain, now the Skyline Drive. The church was organized by the Rev. Warren Corbin with grandfather Dodson being one of the first trustees and where my parents, as young people, attended and naturally they first met, becoming members later.

On a Saturday in April, father with his horse drawn buggy drove and picked up his bride, returning through Sperryville, to the home of Rev. Winfrey in Woodville where they were married. There were no limos in that day. Later returning to grandparents, Frazier home, where they spent the night.
