Additional survivors include a brother, Roger Tanner of Charlottesville and a number of nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband, T. Morgan Johnston. Three brothers, Hunter, Dawson and Alfred Tanner, and a sister, Helen Willoughby, also preceded her in death.
A funeral service was held Monday, April 9 at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Reverend Jennings Hobson, III officiating. Interment was followed in the Washington Masonic Cemetery.
