the break-in was the work of one person or multiple people.
The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office was called at 9:41 a.m. on Friday, and Lt. Connie Smith and Deputy Gary Jenkins arrived at the scene shortly afterward.
A Sonitrol electronic security technician was at Trading Post on Friday afternoon reactivating the store’s alarm. Carter said she did not know whether the alarm sounded during the break-in.
Carter said she is not aware of any other break-ins in the Trading Post’s history. Her father, Ken Carter, has owned the store for more than 10 years.
RCSO Maj. Chris Williams said Monday that the sheriff’s office is still investigating the incident.
