ASHES TO ASHES
Cremation is an ancient practice that dates back to. the Bronze Age. Most recently, it has emerged as an increasingly popular method of body disposition in this country. The increased interest and practice of cremation as a normal form of preparation for final disposition comes with the understanding that it does not restrict family and friends from participating in the traditions, ceremonies, or rituals of a funeral service. In many cases, the family chooses to view the body before cremation and then have the cremated remains present in an um at the memorial service. Cremains may also be buried or stored in a columbarium, which is designed with compartments to hold cremated remains.
