wouldn’t be able to support a athletics program,” RCHS athletic director Bob Czekaj said. “They do so much for us. Anytime we’ve really need them, they’ve been there for us.”
Since its inception in 2000, RCSSA has raised more than $200,000 for RCHS athletics. Without RCSSA, Rappahannock County wouldn’t have a football program.
“We helped start the football program,” RCSSA President Rich Hogan said. “We’ve bought uniforms, equipment, paint for the fields, anything we could to help them get it off the ground.”
In recent months, the RCSSA has been responsible for building a new concessions stand at RCHS’ football and soccer field, paid for new team uniforms, donated money to renovate the high school track, and provided $5,000 in athletic grants.
