Home building decreased 20 percent in Rappahannock County in 2007, County Administrator John McCarthy announced at the County Planning Commission’s meeting July 18.
According to a report issued at the meeting, 24 new homes were constructed between June 2006 and June of this year. That is a drop from the 30 new homes that were built between June 2005 and June 2006.
Commercial building remained steady during the same period, with three buildings constructed in both years.
