there are certain regulations and restrictions when dealing with historic preservation, but the end results benefit everyone.
In addition to individual properties, the Virginia Department of Historic Resources has authorized the creation of Historic Districts. These districts can include all of the "conforming structures" in an entire town or village - and have brought the benefits of historic preservation to within the reach of many more property owners. Rappahannock County currently has three Historic Districts.
