VDOT ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS - SNOW REMOVAL RAPPAHANNOCK AREA HEADQUARTERS Submit Bids between August 1 - 31, 2007 VDOT invites heavy equipment owners to submit quotes for rental of equipment with operators for 2007/2008 SNOW & ICE REMOVAL in Rappahannock County, Rappahannock Area Headquarters. (AHQ) Price per hour shall include operators, fuel, tire chains, supplies, and required insurance. Priority of Calling will be based on a combination of price and experience. Equipment needs to be in good mechanical condition for a 24/7 operation. VDOT reserves the right to determine acceptability of equipment type, size, and condition. Operators must be properly licensed and adhere to all applicable Federal and State Motor Vehicle regulations. All operators must be able to communicate in English. The following equipment is needed at the VDOT Rappahannock AHQ location. Any questions regarding equipment specifications please contact the Rappahannock AHQ Superintendent Richie Lillard @ 540-987-8939 Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 4:30p.m. One ton Four Wheel Drive Pickups with plows and spreaders, the spreader must be 2.0 cubic yards Tandem Dump Trucks (VDOT has a limited supply of plows and spreaders that can be furnished) Tandem Dump Trucks with plows and/or spreaders, the spreader must be 9.0 cubic yards Single Axle Dump Trucks with plows and spreaders, and spreaders must be 5.6 cubic yards Single Axel Dump Trucks (VDOT has a limited supply of plows and spreaders that can be furnished) Single Axel or Tandem Trucks, plows only. 4X4 Rubber Tire Loader and Motor Graders 4X4 Backhoe 4X4 Tractors and plows 80 HP or more 4X4 Tractors 80 HP or more (VDOT has a limited supply of plows that can be furnished) Owners are highly encouraged to register with e VA, Virginia's electronic purchasing system and to certify through the Department of Minority Business Enterprises (DMBE) as a SMALL, woman or minority- owned business.
