Rappahannock County Broadband Initiative
The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors is seeking volunteers to work on a panel to explore broadband access solutions for homes and businesses in Rappahannock County. The Board is seeking persons who are familiar with broadband technologies and/or business models, particularly in rural areas.
The Board hopes that this panel can meet with current or potential vendors about extending their service!s), and to explore ways to encourage new technologies to come into broader use in our community.
The end product would hopefully be a report to the Board of Supervisors outlining both the extent and type of broadband services currently available and the potential for its expansion as well as the availability of new technologies to reach hard to serve areas where the market has not produced broadband service. The panel may wish to include recommendations for public policy or investment.
