“We really get quite a diverse group going out on the river,” he said. “In the early days, it was people that were more adventurous.”
Downriver’s clientele has become more diverse, because the outfitter’s offerings have branched out as well. Gibson started the company as a canoe outfitter, but Downriver has grown to also rent kayaks and inflatable tubes and rafts.
“This is the optimum time for tubing, because the water temperature is warm,” Gibson explained. “It's very refreshing to get out on the river.”
