The Health Department provides a variety of preventive clinical services, dental care, environmental services, prenatal care, well-child care, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, and WIC nutrition services.
The Health Department also inspects and permits restaurants, and permits private wells and septic systems. It is also involved in a wide variety of public health issues, such as rabies control, infectious disease outbreak investigation and control, tuberculosis control, and health education.
