Rappahannock County High Schools’ varsity volleyball team is riding a four-match winning streak. In other words, the Lady Panthers seem to be at peak performance as they head into the upcoming Group A Bull Run District tournament.
“We’re about right where we need to be,” Rappahannock County head coach Scott Wilde said. “We’re still not 100 percent consistent, but they’re high school kids. They’re trying. We all make mistakes, but we’re also able to overcome those mistakes.”
In Tuesday night’s sweep of Clarke County, for example, the Lady Panthers found themselves down, 8-2, and 18-10, in the second game of the match. They pulled themselves together so that they would have a short night.
“They have a very strong willpower,” Wilde added. “They broke Clarke down.”
