Troop leaders Melissa Baldwin and Hedy Paul are happy to brag on this great group of girls.
At Monday night’s meeting they had a special guest speaker. Connie Smith from the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office came to talk with them about personal safety and self-defense. More than a dozen girls were there to hear this 20+-year law enforcement veteran share tips on protecting yourself. This was clearly not the first time the girls had heard this message. Many of them chimed in with tips they’d heard other places. It was a lively interactive exchange that included age-old wisdom such as “don’t take candy from a stranger” and a more modem discussion of pepper spray. Dave will be missed
The community of Amissville was recently saddened to learn that we’d lost one of our own, David Means. Most of us knew David as “Dave, the Handyman.”
