marching band
festival
The Rappahannock County High School marching band traveled to Millbrook High School on Saturday to compete in a state marching band festival.
“The band performed better than they ever had for the state festival,” said Matt Yonkey, director of the Panthers band.
“I’ve never seen a group of musicians focus and work harder.... The judges scored the band as ‘Excellent,’ falling short of a ‘Superior’ rating. Many of the judges were positive in their comments, telling us we are ‘so close to being a ‘Superior’ band.’ Only 3 schools of 16 received a ‘Superior' rating.”
