This year’s Third Annual Artists of Rappahannock Studio and Gallery Tour features some artists that while they can’t be considered new on the art scene, they will be fresh faces to this year’s art happening. Two of them are located in the Town of Washington.
Kevin Adams recently completed his sunlit studio located at 160 Gay Street where you will find him most days when he isn’t busy helping run the Gay Street Inn which he co-owns with Jay Brown.
His artwork is regularly on display across the U.S. In solo and juried exhibitions, public collections and private spaces and the U.S. Department of the Interior has twice commissioned collections of Kevin’s work to celebrate the anniversaries of national parks.
Now being represented by R.H. Ballard, Adams is surprised and pleased from the attention that he is receiving as an artist in Rappahannock.
“I really feel that I’ve come into my own,” said Adams who sits on the town’s Architectural Review Board and is active with RAAC and as a member of the Washington Hospitality and Visitors Association.
“A lot of people didn’t know that I paint, and now they do.”
Opening last November, Flint Hill artist Gory Caulfield has found a new art home with her studio and gallery located on Middle Street.
