Henry saia tnis application has to be considered separately from the Montpelier application. He also said it needs to be considered that the Miller Farm is much larger than the Montpelier property.
Commission Chairman Charles Strittmatter said the Scrutons volunteered to be subject to the conditions on their application.
“I think we have made this far too unrestricted,” Weinberg said. “You’re risking a change in the character of the F.T. Valley if you approve this application”
Weinberg said he is in favor of the house being restored and used as a bed and breakfast. But he is not in favor of having two conference centers across the road from each other, one with 24 events of up to 300 people allowed and the other permitted 12 events of that size.
Weinberg tried to ask Fletcher if would agree to conditions with neighbors to not have a hunting club
Strittmatter cut him off without letting Fletcher answer the question. “Mr. Weinberg, that is not before us,” he said.

“I don’t think we’re adequately protecting the neighbors from adverse effects here,” Weinberg said.
The public will have another opportunity to comment on the Miller Farm application at the Board of Supervisors meeting at 7 p.m. on Nov. 5 at the Rappahannock County Courthouse.
