He’d done work for many of us, anything from excavating work, cutting down trees, moving rocks, mowing hay and even getting wood stoves vented properly. He always seemed to enjoy his work and his rates were always reasonable. Not everyone knew that David had started out in the computer business. He’d traveled a lot in that line of work and had happily settled in Amissville.
He was so set on staying here in Amissville that when offered jobs in Jeffersonton, just down the road, he’d turned them down as too far away!
Besides his wife, Marie, David’s big love was his dogs. They were his. best friends and went with him everywhere.
He was involved with wolf hybrid rescue and will be much missed by his fellow volunteers. Over two years ago David lost two of his beloved dogs, Stryder and Tori, in a truly horrible incident.
We trust that he’s been reunited with them now and that there’s comfort in that for his friends and family. For those of you who knew and loved David, donations in his name can be made to the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League.
And my personal thanks to Donna McConn for her help with this small remembrance of David.
