Castleton resident
James Hiiry Settle, 74, of Castleton, passed away at his residence Thursday, October 11.
He was bom October 13, 1932 to Luther Settle and Lottie Whorton Settle in Castleton.
Mr. Settle was retired from the Arlington County School Board after 31 years of service; enjoyed wildlife; good food; his dog, Lady and had a contagious laugh.
Surviving Mr. Settle is his wife Lorena Hitt Settle of Castleton, his son, Ricky James Settle and his wife Jan of Castleton, his daughter, Carolyn Susan Butler of Castleton, his granddaughter, Erin Zeamer of Luray, Virginia
Additional survivors include his brother, Hushel Settle and his wife Joyce of Castleton, his sisters, Gladys Southard of Culpeper, Virginia Compton and her husband David of Castleton, and Lois Smith and her husband Joe of Culpeper, brother-in-laws, Ben Malleiy of Castleton and Wayne Corbin of Sperryville.
Mr. Settle was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Lorraine Mallory and Dorothy Settle and Frances Elizabeth Corbin.
Funeral services were held in the Clore-English Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, October 16, with Pastor Lee Brown conducting the service. Interment was followed in Hillcrest Memoiy Gardens, Jeffersonton, Virginia.
Elizabeth W. Mustoe
Family in Washington
Elizabeth Woolfolk Mustoe, 91, of Orange died Sunday, Sept 30 at the Orange County Nursing Home.
She was bom April 1, 1916, in Louisa County, to the late Joseph Ellis Woolfolk Sr. and Helen Crenshaw Cox Woolfolk.
Mrs. Mustoe was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Orange.
She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Mustoe of Washington, Va. and Lillian Whetzel of Sterling, two sons, Kenneth Mustoe of Valdese, NC and Edward Mustoe of Texas.'" ~
Additional survivors include two sisters, Sallie Andrews of Culpeper and Lillian Woolfolk of Orange and four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mustoe.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville, with Rev. Phillip Bailey, Rev. Edward Mustoe and Rev. Larry Cline officiating.
