spring he again asked for a review and the Virginia Department of Planning and Budget granted his request.

“We hope to learn additional ways to save taxpayers money, he wrote in an e-mail to Rappahannock News. “We can document over $550,000 in cumulative savings on expenditures from 20042007. I feel there may be additional savings we can realize by going through this review process.”

The review costs a little under $100,000, but Rappahannock schools will have to pay only $27,181, Chappell said. He said he has asked Headwaters Foundation, a not-for-profit education-support group in Rappahannock, for help in covering the cost of the review. The school’s share of the cost will be due in 2009, Chappell said.
