Meeting Monday night, the electoral trustees returned incumbent chairman Beverly Massie to the Rappahannock school board for a four-year term as representative from Jackson District. Then, in a split decision, the trustees replaced Allen Stokes, the current member from Piedmont, with Nancy Reeve.
In nominating Mrs. Reeve, Holly Pendleton said that she was a native of Rappahannock County, educated in the county’s public schools before attending Radford College and the University of Maryland. A five-year resident of Piedmont District, Mrs. Reeve has five children, three currently enrolled in public school, one who will start kindergarten next year and the fifth just an infant.

The Rappahannock Woman’s Club is sponsoring a Card and Game Party Friday, May 9 at the Flint Hill fire hall beginning at 7:30 p.m. Bring your own cards or games. Refreshments will be served.
Admission is $2 per person and proceeds will go towards a scholarship for a Rappahannock County High School senior for a vocational school or further schooling or training.
