Building Inspection
A decision on how to proceed with setting up a building inspection program, on the agenda for the May meeting, was also tabled. In order to comply with state law. Rappahannock must provide inspection service. Currently, the supervisors are considering two options: either to hire a qualified inspector as a county employee or to contract with a private Winchester-based firm to provide the actual service with the county responsible only for scheduling inspection visits.
The board gave unanimous approval to participating in a mass transit study to be conducted at no cost to the localities by the Rap pahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission for the five-county PD Nine area.
