The second annual Old Town Warrenton Spring Festival will be held Saturday, May 17, from 9 to 4, rain or shine.
More than 90 craftspersons have signed up to display their wares along Main Street, which will be closed to vehicles for the day. Macrame, pottery, gold, silver, quilts, dolls, pillows, woodworking, ceramics and numerous other items will be on exhibit and for. sale.
Many merchants will also be displaying specialty items on the street.
A banjo-picking contest has been added this year. There is no entry fee, and cash prizes of $50, $25 and $15 will be awarded. All banjo pickers are urged to sign up now by calling Jan Spencer in Warrenton at 3474256, or by stopping by Kountry Keyboards on Main Street.
Youngsters will enjoy the pond rides and the Children’s Theatre. Live music by Beach and Wilson Company and Fresh Cut Grass will be heard throughout the day. Square dancing will again be performed by The Village Squares and an art exhibit will be set up on Main Street.
