When the Panthers came up at the bottom of the inning, Myers hit a single and again stole second. Schreiner was walked and followed it up with a steal of his own. Myers moved to third and then he and Schreiner both came home on Mike Fletcher’s double to make the score 3-8.
Luray kept its offensive punch in the sixth inning with five runs. Rappahannock scored again when Jimmy Bywaters singled, stole second and advanced to third on an error. Mark Hudson was walked and moved to second on another Elks’ error. Then Rusty Settle hit a sacrifice, bringing Bywaters around to score. Eric Bear hit a single, driving Hudson home for the Panthers’ final tally, 5-14.
Despite their poor performances in the last week, the JV ended their season with a record of five wins versus four loses, the best iff junior varsity history at RCHS.
