Environment and energy conscious citizens will have the opportunity to be paid cash to recycle their aluminum when the Reynolds Aluminum Recycling mobile unit visits the Northern Virginia Shopping Center each Saturday from 9:30 until 11 a.m.
Reynolds pays 23 cents a pound for all-aluminum beverage cans and and other clean household aluminum. A magnet will determine if an object is aluminum as it will not stick to aluminum.
In addition to cleaning up the environment, recycling is a key way of conserving the energy required to manufacture aluminum. One of aluminum’s greatest assets is that it can be used again and again, each time saving 95 percent of the '‘energy required to make it from bauxite ore.
