To encourage installation in remote or underdeveloped regions, the interest rate varies from 4 to 6 per cent for distilleries added to existing mills and 3 to 5 per cent per year for new distilleries in the sugar cane areas. For an independent distillery using feedstock other than sugar cane, the borrower may obtain 90 per cent of the cost of “fixed investment” with the same pay back arrangement except that .interest is set at 2 per cent per year for all regions.
