Assistant superintendent Rob McDaniel tried without success to explain that psychological services involve much more than one followup test for each child in the school’s special programs. Eastham ignored the attempt, cutting McDaniel off each time the assistant superintendent began.
Mrs. Massie noted that an administrative review team from the state had cited the elementary school for failure in meeting the 45-day time limit between referral and testing. “We need at least the psychological services we had this year...There’s no way we can expect to cut the psychologist’s hours in half and get the same level of services,” she said.
