Mrs. Massie acknowledged that she’d stated her confidence in the superintendent’s computations on the proposed 1980-81 budget. “We have to have confidence in the figures that are supplied to us...The board can question but unless there’s an overlying reason not to believe the figures, we have to have confidence,” she stated. “I deeply regret the error but it’s something we all can learn from...Let’s put it behind us and try to secure the best education with the funds that are available for the children of Rappahannock.”
Mrs. Massie reported that the total school hind in the proposed 1980-81 budget amounts to SI,910,281, including S40.6S0 for a double modular unit for the elementary school. “The question now is whether the board is going to take a different stance on the $40,650,” she said.
