Community Meetings Scheduled
Dates for community meetings on the county’s proposed zoning ordnance were set September 19 during a joint work session of the Planding Commission and the Board of Supervisors. The meetings are scheduled to take place by district beginning October 22 and concluding in mid-December. Districts, dates, places and times of the meetings are:
Wakefield: Monday, October 22, Flint Hill Fire Hall, 7:30 p.m.
Hampton: Thursday, November 1, Washington Court House, 7:30 pa.
Stonew all-Hawthorne: Thursday, November 15, Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 7:80 p.m.
Jackson: Monday, December 3, Amissville Fire Hall, 7:30 p.m.
Piedmont: Tuesday, December 11, Sperryville Fire Hall, 7:30 p.m.
The planning commissioners believe this series of community meetings is the best method of taking the proposed zoning ordinance to the pMole for input and suggestions. Said Planning Commissioner Newbill MiDer. “I hope that since these meetings are going into (the) communities, that well bear from the people in those communities.”

e State Senator Coming Friday
Virginia State Senator Kevin Miller is scheduled to make several stops September 28 throughout the 26th Senatorial District, according to a prase release issued last week by his office. Senator Miller is scheduled to be in Washington at the courthouse from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.
The purpose of the visit is to allow individuals to discuss any concerns they have relative to state government and to the 1965 General Assembly Session scheduled to convene January 9. Senator Miller serves on four Senate committees: Local Government; Privilege* and Elections; Rehabilitation and Social Services; and Transportation.
In addition to the atop in Rappahannock, Senator Miller also is scheduled on Friday to be in Madison County at the Board of Supervisors’ meeting room from 9 to 10 a.m.; Culpeper, at the courthouse from 10:46-11:46 a.m.; and Luray, at the. Clerk of Circuit Court Office from 4 to 6 p.m.
