out times in the Burger King, then Wendy’s in Warrenton. All were sad that the video arcade at the mall had been closed down. However, they were quick to spot the one in Warrenton so a stop was made there. Later at home, the boys watched the telly, listened to their new tapes, played Frisbee outside, played Atari video games, shot billiards and blew up Tommy’s freshly put-together model airplane with firecrackers (wherever they came from!). It was a happy day, all survived, and Dad and Mom are resting now.
Frank and Doris Donald were off again to the mountains of West Virginia! This time they spent their time camping in Canaan Valley State Park between Petersburg and Elkins (as the crow flies) in the Allegheny Mountains. It was beautiful - awesome and rocky - with that arctic atmosphere. In fact, it was cold!!! So cold, 40 degrees in the morning, that the Donalds decided instead of cooking over the open fire, they would dine in the lovely lodge. The park also offered skiing, golfing and had great cottages as well as that fine lodge. They counted 43 deer running around and a flock of about 100 geese living on the golf course (that should be quite a sight for a golfer!). The park is about 145 miles from here and the roads are curvy and very mountainous. The Donalds say that this place is really worth visiting.
