She admits, however, that a major hind-raising event last week in her behalf provided a strongly persuasive nudge in that direction.

About 160 guests paid $1,000 per couple to dine on the lawn of the magnificent estate and hear a procession of speakers say kind things about Terry and her expected candidacy. All, however, carefully played the game and avoided any direct reference to the office, and Terry just as carefully avoided any direct commitment to seek it.
