Following a second point-by-point review September 19 of concerns raised August 15 during a public hearing on the proposed zoning ordinance, county planners and supervisors now are ready to begin a series of community meetings by district (see schedule in separate article on this page).
The decision to begin community meetings on the preposed zoning ordinance was made last Wednesday during a joint planner/supervisor work session that followed the planners’ regular monthly meeting. The regular session of the Planning Commission was brief. Among topics of discussion were:
• Agricultural-forestal district with tag on. An application for an agricultural-forestal district located in Hampton District was passed on to the advisory committee for a recommendation. Commissioner Newbill Miller did not participate in the decision to pass on the application.
• Child Care And Learning Center site plan. The site plan for the new Child Care and Learning Center to be constructed off Route 211 in Washington was approved following brief discussion.
