Commissioner Miller wondered if an interim program that was part of the 73 Zoning Ordinance had been overlooked by Cilimberg. Commissioner Charles “Pete” Estes said he thought the contractor would have the flood insurance available.

The discussion was tabled to allow time for Commissioner Estes to follow up on the flood-insurance issue.

• Flood-plain amendment. Zoning Administrator Konick suggested a revision to section 9-7 of the ’73 Zoning Ordinance regarding flood plains. The amendment would allow accessory structures (no water or sewer facilities) in the flood plain.

The zoning administrator said flood plain land is delineated by soil types, rendering much property useless even though it has no history of flooding. Konick said he was making the request for a resident who wanted to build a garage on “flood-plain” property that does not flood.

Under the proposed zoning ordinance, planners confirmed the construction could be allowed by specialuse or special-exception permit. The planners decided not to recommend
