O’Connell is originally from Washington, D. C. He attended Catholic University, George Washington University, Moy Institute of Oriental Cooking, L’Academie de Cuisine and the Culinary Institute of America in New York. He now lives in the Sperryville area.

MHA Fund Raiser
The Rappahannock Mental Health Association will conduct its annual hind drive during October.
The Mental Health Association is a nationwide, voluntary, non-governmental organization dedicated to the promotion of mental health, the prevention of mental illness and the improved care and treatment of the mentally ill.
Contributions will assist the Rappahannock Chapter in attaining these goals. Volunteers soon will be calling for the help of county citizens.
Contributions can be made to these volunteers or mailed to the Rappahannock County Mental Health Association, Post Office Box 21, Sperryville, Virginia.
