“We always receive comments on how phenomenal it is to find a restaurant of the Inn’s caliber in a town of 180 people," said Chef Patrick O'Connell of the Inn at Little Washington. The Inn's location has not prevented it from gaining nation-wide attention, however.
Recently, a picture of the Inn was used as the cover for a book entitled Virginia's Historic Restaurants, by Dawn O’Brien. Some of O’Connell’s recipes were included in the book.
On August 10, O’Connell was notified by “The Cook’s Magazine” that he had been selected for their “Who’s Who of American Cooking 1984.” He is one of 50 restaurateurs, chefs, food producers, authors and vintners chosen by the magazine because of their “significant contributions to the new American cuisine.” Included in the list are Julia
